The new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado truck looks good, there's no two ways about it. And while that's important, it's just one of the many things truck buyers consider when making a decision, so let's take a look at what's under the hood. The new Chevy Silverado truck features a 193-horsepower, 2.5 L LCV naturally-aspirated inline four-cylinder engine with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

How does that stack up against the Dodge Ram? Actually, there's no comparison. The new Dodge Ram truck features a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine that can tow up to 6,200 pounds (compared to 4,500 pounds for the Chevy Silverado). The trade-off is the fuel economy. The RAM 2500 gets less miles per gallon but that's a small price to pay.

In addition, the new RAM 2500 has more cargo space than it's competitor and that's important for the outdoor enthusiast out there. Imagine all the additional stuff you can take with you that you otherwise would be forced to leave behind making the experience so much less enjoyable.

The infotainment systems of both vehicles are similar (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and USB ports come standard) but the Chevy Silverado truck has a bigger touch screen.

So what's the verdict? Hands down the RAM 2500 truck is a better deal for the money. It seats more people, has a more powerful engine and bigger towing capacity. The new Silverado truck from Chevrolet is a good truck but we think that you shouldn't settle for less.
